I am Olivia Maguire, a physical therapy student from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. As a student who has had the privilege of working in various different rehabilitation settings (both inpatient and outpatient), I have developed a passion for working with and educating cancer survivors in regards to the importance of exercise throughout all aspects of the recovery process. As I have watched several family members and friends go through their journey's with cancer, I have been in awe of the role that physical therapy and exercise play in the imperative multi-disciplinary approach that is used to help those who are undergoing active cancer treatment. As I think about my future as a clinician, I am hopeful and optimistic that my dedication to working with this population will continue to grow so I can continue to educate and help cancer survivors gain a sense of independence so that they can return to doing the things they love! I am honored to have been able to work with such motivating and encouraging professors and colleagues who all share the same vision for this resource site, and am ecstatic to be able to share this with cancer survivors and clinicians of various disciplines.
