Our mission is to encourage persons with a current or previous diagnosis of cancer to engage in safe physical activity. In addition we hope to encourage clinicians to promote movement in their patients by providing knowledge, resources and exercise recommendations for all involved.
We strive to create a sense of community amongst cancer survivors and clinicians in order to continuously motivate one another to participate in regular physical activity to help reduce some of the long lasting side effects one might develop during active cancer treatment that directly correlate to quality of life.
Survivorship can be defined as living with, through, and beyond your diagnosis. Exercise has been shown to help through all stages of care to improve fatigue, pain, quality of life and so much more. 1
Treating persons with cancer or a history of cancer can be a new experience for many clinicians, and together we can help to optimize overall quality of life and independence for cancer survivors. 2
